Flamenco rhythms are interwoven with traditional Spanish and Cuban folksong to evoke the soul of the Iberian Peninsula in this spectacular show. Led by award-winning jazz bassist and composer Alec Dankworth, featuring daughter and singer Emily Dankworth and flamenco dancer Jesus Olmedo,Spanish Accents is unmissable and unforgettable.
Alec has shared a stage with some incredible talent throughout his career. VanMorrison, Stéphane Grappelli, Abdullah Ibrahim, The Dave Brubeck Quartet. The list goes on and on. These days he leads the globally inspired group World Spirit and is a member of infamous drummer Ginger Baker’s Jazz Confusion and British jazz and blues band Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames.
Alec’s long-standing love of all things Spanish is the inspiration for Spanish Accents. Join him, Emily and Jesus alongside saxophonist Mark Lockheat, violinist Chris Garrick, drummer Demi Garcia and guitarist Phil Robson for a night of Iberian-inspired ingenuity.
